After reading this articles and the comments I am SHOCKED that NO ONE has thought of the condition known as dyslexia; I am mildly dyslexic myself in other ways, but a good reader. I am also SHOCKED that there is NO mention of this in the article or comments.

Seems to me this student (and probably others at the school)have fallen victim to dyslexia; I am amazed that no mention is made of it in the entire article. O from LA

Can't make it with a woman his own age so he has to resort to little girls...castrate him...then lock him up and make sure he is someone's girlfriend for the rest of his miserable life.

Here's a novel idea...let your kids read to you as part of their homework during their first few years of school, like my parents did, and I did for my kids. It used to be mandatory homework parents had to sign off on. It's up to the parents to make sure they are aware of their child's progress. And if there is a problem, go to the school and make sure you know every option available to get the problem corrected before they set themselves up to fail. A child should not have to reach the 10th grade before it isn't apparent they are having difficulties reading. WAKE UP, PEOPLE!

To Concerned2500... who told you you can't discipline your kids? JSO told us so long as we don't leave a marks lasting more than 5 minutes, or beat them, a spanking (NOT BEATING!!!)is the best way to get their attention and let them know you mean business. I know this because my daughter called 911 when she was going to be spanked...tables turned on her and the policeman told her if she called 911 again for the same reason she would be the one to be taken away. An informed parent knows the way to take care of their child. Unfortunately, not too many parents take the time to be parents, much less be informed of their rights as parents. Until this happens, we will be reading more & more about kids killing kids, kids committing crimes and kids dying over stupid stuff.

My parents taught me to read at the age of 3, BEFORE I entered kindergarten. They did not wait for my education to start once I started public school. Any parent that is not aware of their child's performance (or lack there of) is at fault for failing their child. I love how the grandmother in this story wants "someone" to be held accountable. Let's start with the girl's parents, who obviously did a poor job preparing their daughter to enter school and subsequently didn't pay attention to what was happening throughout her entire educational career. I agree with posters who have said that education starts at home. If the first time your child learns to identify a number, letter, shape or color is when they start attending school, they will already be behind and you as a parent have dropped the ball. But hey, at least they'll know the names of expensive clothing designers and all the lyrics to their favorite songs, so I guess it's not a complete loss.

Scum like this need to be put in a room with the parents of the children they abused for about 10 minutes...I doubt they would make it out alive. Saves us taxpayers money for court fees and keeping their sorry butts alive in jail...

Here is a worthless POS...use him for organ donation.

The parents of the girl should have had him locked up for statutory rape back in December 2007 when they found out he was 22 and not 17 like their daughter said he was. If he had been put away Mr. Stewart might still be alive today. He is worthless, and she is a product of parents NOT doing their jobs....very sad situation.
